We have a vacancy for a Senior Maintenance Engineer to supervise our workshop, workloads, maintenance staff and contractors. You will be responsible for:
• managing, organising and carrying out planned preventative maintenance, repairs and cleaning schedules
• general site maintenance and improvements
• maintenance of the sorting and mobile plant
• helping to ensure the site runs efficiently.
You must work to high health, safety and environmental standards and be a team player, with the ability to work unsupervised.
This position will suit someone with supervisory experience and a demonstrable knowledge of mechanical & electrical plant maintenance. Experience working with diesel engines and hydraulics would be advantageious. Fabrication and welding skills would also be useful, as would experience of the waste or utilities industries.
You should be willing to visit other sites which might include occasional overnight stays.

The role requires front line operation, inspection, cleaning, minor mechanical and electrical maintenance of static waste specification sorting and handling equipment including shredders, screeners, conveyor belts, drum separators and optical sort machines.
The ability to work to health and safety, environmental and other standards, together with experience of setting up and feeding sorting, screening or similar processing plant is required.
The successful candidate will work in a team based environment but have the ability to work well unsupervised, be self-motivated and have the flexibility to be involved in all aspects of the operation.
A recognised license or qualification to operate plant is required eg CITB, CPCS, EPIC, NVQ or similar together with a demonstrable period of plant operating experience eg cherry picker, scissor lift, skid steer loader or other industrial equipment.
The role involves working a 4-on, 4-off fixed night shift (18:00 – 06:00).
