Avonmouth

Boiler Operator

We have a vacancy for a Boiler Operator at our Avonmouth Energy site.

This is skilled work in the operation, maintenance, and servicing of high pressure steam boilers and related equipment. The boilers each operate at 40barg with 400C superheat to provide 33T/hr steam to steam turbines.

The role involves responsibility for the operation, servicing, and repair of high pressure steam boilers, pumps, motors, burners, de-ashing, safety devices, boiler controls, and recording devices. In addition, the Boiler Operator will operate and maintain the steam turbines and air cooled condenser.

The successful applicant will be A certified industrial boiler operative with qualifications from an approved boiler operation accredited scheme eg Certified Industrial Boiler Operator (CertIB0) for steam raising boilers; Diploma in Boiler Plant Operation Management (DipBOM).

The shift pattern for this role will be 4-on 4-off between 06:00-18:00 and 18:00-06:00.

Plant Technician

We have a vacancy for a Plant Technician (Mechanical) at the New Earth Energy plant in Avonmouth.

We require a Plant Technician to supervise front line plant operations, in co-operation with the Maintenance Manager and on-duty Maintenance Engineer. Duties will include the implementation of the power station’s maintenance procedure during a 12 hour shift, walking the plant to check for improvements and arranging repairs as required, operation of forklift truck and load material when required and general maintenance tasks necessary to keep the plant safe, clean and tidy.

Mobile plant driving experience, welding, mechanical and electrical skills are essential for this role.

The successfully applicant will be a reliable team player with a willingness to be involved in all aspects of the operation. Supervisory experience would be an advantage and the ability to communicate at all levels is essential. An awareness of health, safety, fire and other relevant legislation together with knowledge of the waste and energy industry would be useful.

The role involves working a 12 hour 4-on, 4-off shift pattern alternating between days and nights, although extra hours may be required at times depending on the needs of the business

Weighbridge Operator (Part time)

Working pattern: Part time or job share arrangements Monday to Friday (23.75hrs per week)

We require a Weighbridge Operator whose duties will include weighing vehicles in and out, operating the site computerised weighbridge system, directing traffic around the site, checking paperwork for vehicles, processing waste transfer notes and weighbridge tickets. The role will also involve organising data and dealing with site paperwork, and communicating with customer drivers.

The successful candidate will have a pleasant telephone manner and the ability to communicate clearly face to face, a methodical approach to record keeping and be a team player who is also able to work well unsupervised and manage their time effectively.
