Avonmouth, Bristol

Environmental Technician – up to £20,000 depending on experience

We are offering the opportunity to develop an exciting career with this progressive company within the environmental business sector where the role will involve you focusing on optimising the performance of the bio-stabilisation process at New Earth Solutions’ MBT facility at Avonmouth.

Reporting to the Environmental Manager you will be responsible for monitoring the bio-stabilisation process through collection and analysis of samples and data to ensure quality of the end product. You will be responsible for the site based laboratory, and will liaise with local regulatory authorities.

You will be educated to degree level in an environmental science subject or have equivalent demonstrable experience. You will have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience within the waste or utilities industries would be advantageous.

Canford, Dorset

Site Supervisor

We need an experienced supervisor whose duties will involve the day to day supervision of the facilities and workforce, organising work rotas and staffing levels. The role will include the organisation of haulage for waste and product removal and for ensuring that the quality of wastes and products leaving site are to an appropriate specification. Importantly the successful applicant will have a proven track record of ensuring Health & Safety standards are a priority and have a sound knowledge of permit and compliance with relevant waste management legislation and Company Standards and Procedures, as well as organising inspection and maintenance of all plant and equipment.

This position will suit someone with a demonstrable record of supervisory experience in waste treatment and composting with a current COTC. This person must be a good communicator and be able to lead small teams effectively You must be able to manage your time effectively, be self motivated and capable of conversing with people at all levels confidently. The role also requires the ability to work on a flexible basis with core hours being 06-00 – 14:00; however depending upon site requirements from time to time start and finish times may be modified. We will also require attendance on alternate Saturday mornings and some Bank Holidays as well as flexibility to cover other shifts as necessary.

Relief Baler/Plant Operator

We require a Relief Baler/Plant Operator to operate and maintain mobile and static plant, including the baler and cross wrap machinery to assist with the composting process. You must be able to work to high health and safety standards and to deadlines and be a team player who is also able to work well unsupervised.

You should have a recognised plant operating licence or be able to demonstrate an acceptable level of experience with one or more of the following pieces of plant: loading shovel, fork lift truck, telehandler, excavator, skid steer loaders, tractor and trailer or similar industrial equipment.

Experience in the waste or utilities industries and knowledge of waste industry practices would be advantageous.

Plant Operative

You should have a recognised plant operating licence or be able to demonstrate an acceptable level of experience with one or more of the following pieces of plant: loading shovel, fork lift truck, telehandler, excavator, skid steer loaders, tractor and trailer or similar industrial equipment

You must be able to work to high health and safety standards and to deadlines and be a team player who is also able to work well unsupervised and willing to work the 14:00-22:00 shift.
