Avonmouth

Mobile Plant Operator

We require a Mobile Plant Operator to control our main reception area/tipping hall. Duties will include the safe and efficient movement of waste ensuring vehicles are tipped within the contracted turnaround times; you will also be required to carry out other duties as requested by the Logistics Supervisor. You will also be responsible for the machine in which you are operating ensuring all daily checks are carried out and defects reported promptly and also making sure the cleanliness of the machine is maintained at all times.

A recognised license or qualification to operate a loading shovel, (CITB, CPCS, EPIC, NVQ or proof of experience) is required, together with a demonstrable period of plant operating experience.

The role involves working from 07:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday with some Saturday and Bank Holiday working depending on the operating needs of the business.

Multi-skilled Operative

We require Multi-skilled Operatives who can safely operate mobile plant eg forklift trucks, wheeled loading shovels and fixed plant eg balers, wrappers, screening and shredding equipment. Minor mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks and industrial cleaning of mechanical separation equipment and mobile plant will also be part of the role.

Successful applicants must be able to work to health and safety and environmental standards as they apply to the process, and co-operate with site management. The ability to work in a team based environment and a willingness to be involved in all aspects of the operation is also required.

A recognised license or qualification eg CITB, CPCS, EPIC, NVQ or proof of experience is essential, as is a demonstrable period of mobile plant operating with one or more of the following; loading shovels, fork lift trucks, cherry picker/scissor lift, or other industrial equipment. Experience of working in a production environment and feeding screening or similar processing plant would be advantageous.

The role will involve working a 12 hour shift pattern of 4-on and 4-off either 06:00-18:00 or 18:00 – 06:00.

Boiler Operator

We have a vacancy for a Boiler Operator at our Avonmouth Energy site.

This is skilled work in the operation, maintenance, and servicing of high pressure steam boilers and related equipment. The boilers each operate at 40barg with 400C superheat to provide 33T/hr steam to steam turbines.

The role involves responsibility for the operation, servicing, and repair of high pressure steam boilers, pumps, motors, burners, de-ashing, safety devices, boiler controls, and recording devices. In addition, the Boiler Operator will operate and maintain the steam turbines and air cooled condenser.

The successful applicant will be A certified industrial boiler operative with qualifications from an approved boiler operation accredited scheme eg Certified Industrial Boiler Operator (CertIB0) for steam raising boilers; Diploma in Boiler Plant Operation Management (DipBOM).

The shift pattern for this role will be 4-on 4-off between 06:00-18:00 and 18:00-06:00.

Administrator / Weighbridge Operator

Working pattern: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday
Hourly rate: £10.25

We require a Site Administrator / Weighbridge Operator whose duties will include operating the site computerised weighbridge system, directing traffic around the site, checking paperwork for vehicles, processing waste transfer notes, weighbridge tickets and purchase orders. The role will also involve organising data and dealing with site paperwork, answering the telephone, meeting and greeting visitors and liaising with site personnel.

The successful candidate will have good basic IT skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, a pleasant telephone manner and the ability to communicate clearly, a methodical approach to record keeping and be a team player who is also able to work well unsupervised and manage their time effectively.

Canford

Health and Safety Advisor

The purpose of the role is to provide health and safety support for the Canford site under the direction of the group Health & Safety Manager and the Canford Site Manager.

The key aims are to assist the site in delivering positive health and safety management systems and cascading the detail of these down to all site users, including employees, contractors, drivers and visitors. The role is seen as important to assist the coordination of procedures and assessments of shared systems such as workplace transport, security and emergency response/ management.

Duties will include:

  • Undertaking and reviewing task risk and targeted assessments and developing safe systems of work.
  • Carry out observational monitoring of health and safety practices on site, including behavioural monitoring and contractor monitoring;
  • Carry out COSHH assessments and identify any chemicals not covered
  • Undertaking and monitoring of site safety tests such as emergency evacuation drills, fire drills and first aid drills.

Applicants should have experience of using and delivering health, safety and quality systems in an industrial field. A working knowledge of mechanical process plant and mobile plant and / or energy production as well as experience of Quality and Environmental Management Systems ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001 would be an advantage

NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health is essential

The hours of work for this role are Monday to Friday 9:00 to 17:30.

Industrial Night Cleaner

An Industrial Cleaner is required for the Canford MBT facility, Dorset. Duties will include:

  • Front line industrial cleaning of the mechanical separation equipment using hand tools, compressed air, pressure washer (cleaning screen apertures, shredder cutting table, filters on compressors and optical sorts, cutting tape from bearings and rollers etc)
  • Maintaining a high standard of cleaning/housekeeping of the static plant and pedestrian walkways/gantries at all times
  • Safe operation of mobile plant (cherry picker, scissor lift, skid steer loader)
  • Co-operating with site management
  • Working to health and safety, environmental other standards as they apply to the process, including the issuing of Permits to Work, Isoloc sheets etc

Applicants should have a recognised Plant Operating licence, CITB, CPCS, EPIC, NVQ or similar and experience of cleaning in an industrial environment.

The hours of work for this role are 4 nights per week, 10 hours per shift Monday to Thursday from 20:00 to 06:30
