Plant Operatives are required to assist in the daily operations of a power generation facility, to carry out sampling, daily record keeping, weekly routines, minor repairs and minor maintenance tasks on New Earth’s Waste to Energy plant.
Plant Operatives work a shift pattern of 12 hours, 4 on 4 off, alternating between day and night shifts. Operatives may also be required to work additional hours at times to cover holiday and sickness.
The successful candidates will be flexible, team players and have good problem solving skills. Previous industrial plant experience and basic mechanical or electrical skills would be an advantage.

We require a Plant Technician to supervise front line plant operations, in co-operation with the Maintenance Manager and on-duty Maintenance Engineer. Duties will include the implementation of the power station’s maintenance procedure during a 12 hour shift, walking the plant to check for improvements and arranging repairs as required, operation of forklift truck and load material when required and general maintenance tasks necessary to keep the plant safe, clean and tidy.
Mobile plant driving experience, welding, mechanical and electrical skills are essential for this role.
The successfully applicant will be a reliable team player with a willingness to be involved in all aspects of the operation. Supervisory experience would be an advantage and the ability to communicate at all levels is essential. An awareness of health, safety, fire and other relevant legislation together with knowledge of the waste and energy industry would be useful.
The role involves working a 12 hour 4-on, 4-off shift pattern alternating between days and nights, although extra hours may be required at times depending on the needs of the business.
