Community Update
New Earth Solutions has built up an excellent reputation for undertaking early community engagement and has found it to be an extremely positive process. It provides an opportunity for everyone to understand more about a proposed development, identify key issues that are important to a local community and ultimately to influence the shape of any subsequent planning application.
It is important to remember that New Earth Solutions is more than just a developer; after construction the company will operate the facility. It is our experience, that we are quickly viewed as part of the local community - as a neighbour, employer and / or service provider. The company recognises the importance of forging long term links with a local community. We therefore start as we mean to continue.
New Earth Solutions do not look to impose a particular format of community engagement on a local community. In many cases there may already be groups set up that are willing and able to help facilitate community engagement. The company will normally consider where people live in relation to the proposal and consult with local stakeholders, such as Parish Council, Councillors and residents groups. The aim is to ensure effective engagement.
Examples of methods of engagement previously undertaken include:
- Briefings for elected members
- Community newsletters (distributed electronically and by post)
- Mail shots
- Public exhibitions
- Open meetings
- Presentations and targeted meetings for special interest groups
- Website links
