Chris has worked in the waste management industry for more than 20 years, with senior roles in both contracting and consultancy. This has covered all commercial aspects in relation to the roles of the public and private sectors of the waste industry, including strategy and business development.

Prior to joining New Earth Chris was Commercial Director at Waste Recycling Group, a leading waste disposal and management contractor with annual revenues of over £500m. At WRG Chris played a key role in taking the company from a regional player to the UKs largest waste disposal contractor through an aggressive programme of price-leadership, organic growth and acquisitions.

As the group’s Commercial Director whilst a public limited company and under private equity ownership, Chris was responsible for the local authority and national commercial contract portfolio, tendering and PFI projects, marketing, and the acquisition of businesses and land. He was previously a Director of Robert Long Consultancy Limited and a Management Consultant with Coopers and Lybrand.

Chris holds a BA(Hons) in Economics and Agricultural Economics from University of Exeter and an MSc in Land and Water Management from Cranfield University.
